A Look Back in Time, Vol. I

This easily read, interesting memoir of an African American, military child growing up in the segregated United States during the 1950’s helps readers understand the joys and troubles of children at that time. The book reads like a novel giving detail to each fascinating memory of a child. His stories about marbles, school recitations, and learning to swim put the reader in the game with the author. This is a read for anyone interested in childhood memoir, and for any middle/high school teen interested in what life was like for kids before Nintendo, computers, and cell phones.
